Moroccan passport holders need a Schengen visa to enter Switzerland. Apply at the Swiss Embassy in Rabat or through TLScontact in Casablanca. A short-stay visa (Type C) costs CHF 80 or EUR 80 (about MAD 880) and allows up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the Schengen zone. Processing takes 10 to 15 working days. Switzerland is part of the Schengen area despite not being in the EU.

Required documents include a passport valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen area with two blank pages, two passport photos (35mm x 45mm), completed application form, travel insurance covering CHF 30,000 minimum, round-trip flight booking, hotel reservations for the entire stay, bank statements from the last 3 months, employment letter with salary details, and a cover letter. If visiting family or friends, a written invitation from the Swiss host plus their residence permit copy is required.

Direct flights from Casablanca (CMN) to Geneva (GVA) and Zurich (ZRH) run about 3 hours on Royal Air Maroc and Swiss International Air Lines. Switzerland uses the Swiss franc (CHF), trading at roughly 10.8 MAD per CHF 1. Card payments work everywhere, but some smaller shops and mountain huts are cash-only. No mandatory vaccinations. The Swiss Travel Pass covers all trains, buses, boats, and city trams (CHF 232 for 3 consecutive days, CHF 399 for 8 days in second class). Geneva and Zurich airport train stations connect directly to the national rail network, with trains departing every 10 to 30 minutes.

SBB trains from the airport station (below Check-in 2) to Zurich HB take 10 minutes and run every 10–15 minutes. Long-distance intercity trains to Geneva, Basel, Bern, and Lucerne depart directly from the airport station; Zurich Airport is one of the best-connected airports in Europe for onward rail travel. Taxis queue outside arrivals; fares to the city centre are CHF 55–75.Rental car desks are located in the arrivals area. Swiss customs exit is prompt for EU/Schengen arrivals. The Meet & Greet area is directly adjacent to baggage reclaim.

Temperate continental climate. Winters (November–February) are cold and frequently foggy on the Swiss Plateau; fog (Hochnebel) can persist for days and is the most common cause of delays, with the airport above the fog layer on clearer days but below it on others. Snow does occur but is well managed. Temperatures range from −2 to 5°C.

Summers (June–August) are warm at 22–28°C with afternoon thunderstorms that can be intense but brief. Spring and autumn are mild and variable. Hochnebel fog season (October–January) is the primary operational risk to plan around.
