Direct service also operates from Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Portland, San Francisco, and Washington Dulles. The Netherlands uses the euro, trading at roughly $1.08 per EUR 1. OV-chipkaart works on all Dutch trains, trams, buses, and metros. A single tram or metro ride in Amsterdam costs EUR 2.20 ($2.38). The train from Schiphol to Amsterdam Centraal takes 15 minutes and costs EUR 5.40 ($5.83). Canal-side restaurant meals run EUR 18 to EUR 35 ($19 to $38). Bicycle rental starts at EUR 12 ($13) per day, and cycling is the fastest way through Amsterdam's city center.
